Eligibility

This scholarship offers financial assistance to outstanding full-time college or university students who are employed by any of the ADMAX or Associated Grocers stores.

Careers in the grocery industry are consistent and generally offer long-term career path opportunities to those who have a passion to pursue it.

Award

Scholarship awards are $500 for the first two semesters, and increases to $1500 for every semester thereafter, totaling a maximum award of $10,000. Students must renew their scholarship applications every semester and remain employed part-time. Scholarship awards shall be used toward the following, in order of priority: tuition and fees; books and supplies; room and board; and commuting expenses up to fifty dollars a month. Recipients must apply for the scholarship annually and must remain employed by any ADMAX or Associated Grocers stores.

Requirements

In making its decision, the Scholarship Advisory Committee shall use the following criteria:

  • ACT/SAT scores
  • Academic resume
  • An essay detailing why you would consider a career in the grocery industry or how working in the grocery industry has prepared you for your career choice.
  • High school and/or undergraduate GPA
  • Previous semester’s academic transcripts
  • Quality of personal statement
  • Quality of letter of recommendation from store manager

Renewal

To maintain the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum 2.0 overall GPA each semester. At the end of each semester, the recipient will provide the Association with an official transcript, proof of full-time enrollment for the next semester, and employment verification with Admax or Associated Grocers by store manager. The subsequent scholarship check will be issued only upon receipt of these materials.
