James Iverson
2004 GMRA Scholarship Recipient
Job Title : Pricing Coordinator, Roberts Company, Inc.
I came to appreciate the value of a dollar, hard work, and how difficult life can be for folks of average means at a young age working in the supermarket industry. I was fortunate to have wonderful parents that helped open my eyes to all of those realities and who also pushed me to take advantage of that knowledge. I was among the first recipients of the GMRA/Admax Scholarship in 2004 and that financial assistance helped me pursue my degrees in business and subsequent employment in the supermarket retail industry. One of my proudest professional moments since graduating came as a store director in 2012 when I was able to help one of my most deserving cashiers secure her own GMRA/Admax scholarship.
